The Global Business & Economics Research Conference, Istanbul will be held at Hilton Istanbul All presentations will take place on Friday, August 8, 2008 between 8:30AM - 8:00PM.  We plan to have 15 minutes available for each presentation.  Please see the schedule below. “Purdue's Journey Towards Formalized Experiential Learning”

 

Prof. Jamaluddin Husain specializes in Entrepreneurship & Economic Development. He completed his Undergraduate Engineering education in Bangladesh. His MS is from the University of the Philippines and his Ph.D. is from Northwestern University, USA.

 

Before joining Purdue University in 1989, Prof. Husain managed his own businesses in Pakistan and the USA. Husain established the Small Business Institute at Purdue University Calumet in 1990 and then founded the Entrepreneurship Center in 1994 where he was the Executive Director till mid-2007. He held the Coleman Chair in Entrepreneurship for six years.   He has been involved in economic development in several countries, such as: Azerbaijan, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Pakistan, Lithuania, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, etc. In the United States he has been involved with Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development since 1986 and has worked with and assisted a large number of business owners and start-ups.

 

Based on his commitment to entrepreneurship, Dr. Husain has received many awards including the prestigious Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year Award” for Illinois and Northwest Indiana region. He has conducted workshops, seminars and courses for several Associations of Business Owners and other organizations.   Prof. Husain is a frequent Guest Speaker for organizations like the Chambers of Commerce, Lions Club, Exchange Club, Kiwanis Club, Business & Trade Associations, etc.   Currently he is also the Chairman of the NGO: Entrepreneurship Development Foundation, Inc., USA.
